Season of the Witch: A Journey Through the Dark Season

A two-month initiation into the mystery, magic, and medicine of the year’s deepest night.

An Invitation to Step into the Dark

Between Halloween and the Winter Solstice, the veil thins.
The old year dies back. The light recedes. The air hums with unseen presence.

This is what I call the Dark Season, a liminal passage of endings and beginnings, a time when the Crone walks among us and the roots of new life stir underground. It is the witch’s season, a threshold where we meet our ancestors, our dreams, and the shadowed wisdom within.

In ancient traditions, this was the witch’s new year: a time to gather around the fire, honour the dead, and divine what was yet to come.Even now, this season invites us to slow down, listen inward, and remember that darkness is not something to fear, it is fertile, creative, and full of hidden light.

Season of the Witch is a two-month immersion designed to help you move consciously through this portal, to enter the mystery with awareness, ritual, and embodied reverence.

What We’ll Explore

Through a series of pre-recorded video lessons + four live 90-minute workshops, we’ll walk together through the gates of the Dark Season, weaving somatic practice, mythic storytelling, ritual, and plant medicine into a journey of descent and renewal. Each live session includes embodied grounding, archetypal & seasonal teachings, a guided ritual, and space for reflection and integration.

Plant allies: Evergreen & Reishi.

Who Is This For?

This is not a witchcraft 101 course, meaning I won’t be teaching you how to be a witch, because I don’t believe anyone can teach that. The archetype of the witch already lives within you. My role is not to define it for you, but to help you listen for how it wants to express itself through your life, your body, and your relationship with the world around you.

This circle is for those who feel called to walk toward winter’s threshold with awareness, seekers, and soulful humans who want to live in rhythm with the seasons and deepen their relationship to mystery.

You don’t need prior experience with witchcraft, divination or plant medicine, only a willingness to slow down, listen deeply, and explore your own way of working with magic and meaning.

Together we’ll explore questions such as:

  • Who is the witch, and what is my relationship to this archetype?
  • How do the rhythms of the seasons express themselves in my life?
  • What is my relationship with the land upon which I live?
  • How can I nourish my intuition and trust my inner knowing?
  • Who are my other-than-human allies, and how can I strengthen those bonds?
  • What kind of magic do I work most naturally, and how can I empower it for myself?

If you’re craving rhythm, ritual, and rest… if you feel something stirring in the darkness asking for your attention… this gathering is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?

The Season of the Witch begins on October 31st 2025 and will conclude on December 21st 2025.

Do I need to identify as a witch to take this course?

Absolutely not. The witch is an archetype that holds deep and personal meaning for me, which is why I work with it; however, I don't expect others to adopt it as a label or identity. However, if you are intrigued by this archetype, we will explore it in various ways to gain a deeper understanding of it for yourself.

Is this course for women only?

This course is open to all, regardless of where you sit on the gender spectrum or how you self-identify.

How much time do I need to put into this course?

The amount of time you choose to put into this program will be entirely up to you. I will not pressure you to complete anything by a specific time. This is not a certification program; everyone will engage with it slightly differently. This program is meant to inspire you to weave more magic into your daily life.

What if I have questions? How do I access support?

You can reach me by email, and we will host four live workshops where you can ask questions in person.

I have never worked with tarot or herbalism before. Does this matter?

Not at all. Beginners and seasoned practitioners are equally welcome. Anything related to tarot or herbalism is completely optional; you’re invited to explore what intrigues you and leave aside what doesn’t. Curiosity is all that’s required.

I live in the Southern Hemisphere. Will this course work for me?

You’re most welcome to join, but please note that I teach from the Northern Hemisphere, and my content follows our seasonal rhythms. The archetypal and mythic themes are universal, yet the timing of the Dark Season will differ where you are. You’re invited to adapt the practices to your own landscape as feels right.

Who Am I?

My name is Natalie, and I identify as a teacher, a storyteller, and a wisdom seeker.

For more than two decades, I’ve guided circles rooted in seasonal wisdom, embodied mindfulness, and animist ritual. My work weaves the body, the mythic imagination, and the natural world into a path of embodied spirituality.

The Season of the Witch is a love letter to the part of us that is drawn to the mystery, the part that feels most alive under dark skies. That knows endings are also beginnings.

Walk with me through the dark and let us remember that the light we seek is born there.
